Diving
Chabil Mar does not have it’s own Dive Center so we recommend Splash Dive Center which is located across from Chabil Mar. Guests can either walk the five minutes to the dive center or Splash Dive Center will collect and drop off guests after their days diving adventure.
Splash Dive Center has been providing scuba diving, snorkeling and adventure tours in Placencia in Southern Belize since the year 2000, and has grown from a small operation focusing on scuba instruction, to a community driven PADI Five Star Resort facility, that provides dive packages, instruction and supports environmental conservation and community projects.
Splash Dive Center is an accredited PADI Dive Center and is fully equipped with up to date scuba and snorkel equipment. They maintain the equipment to ensure it is in first class condition and with their state of the art air compressor and routine air quality checks as per PADI standards; there is no need to worry about bad air. Splash is also the only dive facility on the peninsula with personnel certified for visual inspection of its dive tanks.
Splash Dive Center supports Subaquatics of Belize Ltd, the Belize Recompression Chamber in San Pedro.
The dive staff is registered with the Belizean Tour Operators association, and the Divemasters and Instructors have a lifetime of knowledge of the Placencia reefs and environment, and they place your dive experience, education, and enjoyment at the forefront of their customer service.
Splash dive center Placencia village marina
The new Dive Center and retail store at the Peninsular Club Marina at the north end of Placencia opened in early 2011. This facility, the only scuba retail store in the southern half of Belize, contains a full line of scuba and snorkel equipment, cameras, diving accessories and PADI materials. They have 5 custom designed dive boats, including a 46 foot Newton dive boat and our fishing boat at the marina.
